This poster is in response to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Je2ORLcybM&feature=youtu.be Anyone is anonymous, although they'd have to follow the Anonymous ethos, which is clearly NOT fascism. Anonymous will fight for anyone to have freedom of speech and in doing so this means no agendas, no fascism or bias in anyway. The ethos of Anonymous stands above petit political views and point scoring, there are no leaders in Anonymous for a reason.
We've all seen it, and if you haven't, you will at some point find yourself engaging with it. That poison chalice filled with vile and virulent dialogue, spiteful unjustified racism and bigotry against colour difference, religion, gender, beauty...the list goes on. What fuels someone's delusion and moulds their thoughts to formulate ideas of hate in this way? I would argue that there is no original thought in the bigot's mind. They are just part of a sad and pitiful group of people who have nothing really significant to contribute to intellectual thought or positive to society. How can the bigot believe that violent acts of volatile text, online, really change their community for the better? Or, do these people want blood on the streets in the name of....what exactly? They never specify do they, it always just seems to be a personal grudge they are airing. Then there is the fact that they are just another cog in the nationalist machine, following their leader, one little racist following another without any true justification for their thoughts or actions, just a mechanical action of doing because others do. So, how do we deal with this when we happen across it? Our human instinct is to fight back with words of wisdom, but, are they wasted on people like this? Is it down to education? I don't mean school education, I mean a general understanding and lack of reading and research etc. Can the bigot change? Do we just ignore them? Attempt to change them? Lead them to a more positive viewpoint? Humiliate them? We will all find our own way to deal with this but, one thing is for sure, they certainly do a good job of revealing themselves! What is irksome, is how often they take cultural symbols and misappropriate them, abuse them and strip them of their original and positive meaning. The most famous of which being the swastika of course, which has it's roots in antiquity and once stood for wealth, prosperity and auspiciousness. Now it is dirtied with fascism and gross human cruelty. And anyone who takes the modern cultural symbol of the red 'V' and spray paints it anywhere in the name of bigotry, completely misappropriates it and misses the gyst of that story completely (the contemporary graphic novel V for Vendetta that is). I could mention more, but at the risk of getting boring! So, we have to resist these people online, engage with them carefully or not at all and try to remember that they are a minority, with the squeak of a mouse attempting to have the growl of a lion and overcompensating for their weakness by spewing out diatribe and stealing symbols of humanity because they have no creative thoughts to make any of their own. WARNING! This Blog Post May Make you THINK about Autonomous and Free Learning! “Study hard what interests you the most in the most undisciplined, irreverent and original manner possible.” ― Richard P. Feynman And, Feynman, one of the most respected physicists of our time, was right. Study what interests YOU. When you stare at that whiteboard (or more appropriately, white”bored”!) and bamboozle your brain with all the irrelevant information that means nothing to you at all, take time to consider what you really want to know in your life, what you really want to learn about, what interests YOU and what activities you want to see in your non-routine as routine is just another way of letting the state control your already boring day. In your free-learning and free thinking day what do YOU actually want to know about and what will be useful to YOU?
Not everyone has the opportunity to be home-schooled. Some people still have the ridiculous notion that it is not allowed and that the only way to learn is through the system prescribed by the all powerful and pervading government which actually has no say or power over your education at all unless you allow them to have. So, I invite you, to add your thoughts here on how you would like your autonomous learning experience to be. Please post ideas and suggestions on alternative ways of learning to help others see the light. Here are a few fun and interesting websites where learning can take place without a whiteboard:
Please add to this list on the forum, IRC, twitter or our face book, after all it is your space for your thoughts, add links, philosophical thoughts, autonomous writing, your book reviews and anything you would like to share or express, and, don't forget your art gallery too :) Mystic Biscuit ...what an interesting story that is. A musician leading away the rats with his magical notes. Do you ever feel like one of those being led away? The government plays their merry tune and the rat race follows. Worse still, eventually the children follow, our children, led by an outdated curriculum ever changing yet never changing, the same old rote system, memorise, test, memorise, test, but, that's okay as long as you're following the piper. But, we can change this. We can start by learning to play an instrument that others will hear but instead of expecting listeners to follow the lead player we can encourage everyone around us to play too, be part of the orchestra. Ah, orchestra, an interesting word from the Greek orkhestra, a theatrical space where Greek players danced (see Online Etymology Dictionary here: http://bit.ly/1lNFGP0 ). We can take that dance floor and use it to dance freely. Now from orchestra, we can get the word orchestrate (see Dictionary.com here: http://bit.ly/1hXmLyh ) and suddenly we have learnt to progress and orchestrate ourselves into something positive and dynamic, ever learning with an open mind and through astute use of intuition we can start to make our immediate environment a better place. Share ideas, play together, shed light on issues that concern you, learn from each other and help each other. This is the basic and most important way we can be humane, simple steps to raise awareness and care about one another. I know, it's all been said before but sometimes we need reminding that caring for those around us spreads and eventually before we know it there is care back in the community, if only we open ourselves to it. Start to do that more and the lead piper becomes insignificant. So please, dear reader, hang out with us, learn with us so we can learn from you, you are welcome and you are already part of the change, you are here, and that is why I am here, because I care about all of us.
